Carol Mullen obtained her bachelors from William & Mary in 1969 after majoring in Psychology. She continued her education at the University of Maryland College Park where she obtained her masters in 1971 and her doctorate in Clinical and Developmental Psychology in December of 1978.
Dr. Mullen came has been with The Family Institute of Virginia since 1979, where she performs psychotherapy with individuals (children, adolescents and adults), couples, and families; consultation; supervision; psychological evaluation as well as providing expert testimony in custody and visitation issues. In addition to her responsibilities at The Family Institute of Virginia, Dr. Mullen also served as the Court Psychologist in 1980 and 1981 for the 13th District Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Her duties there included psychological evaluation of delinquent and non-delinquent children and adults as well as consultation with and training of court staff, group home staff and foster parents.
Carol Mullen is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and is a member of the American Psychological Association, Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists, Virginia Psychological Association and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
